Our Client within the Life Assurance Sector is seeking an Internal Auditor to work within their Group Internal Audit function. This is an opportunity for someone who is interested in developing their career in a professional role within one of the Islands leading financial services groups. The successful applicant will be expected to work with the GIA team delivering audits to the highest professional standards. This role may also involve travel off the island from time-to-time.

Role Profile:

- Ensuring on target delivery of GIA assignments
- Executing assignments in accordance with professional auditing standards including making recommendations for improved control, efficiency and effectiveness of systems
- Carrying out comprehensive research
- Develop effective working relationships
- Evaluating the effectiveness of processes, controls, risk management and governance systems
- Following-up on assignment recommendations and evaluating the effectiveness of management actions

Person Profile:

- Prior audit experience is essential
- An enquiring mind together with tenacity and commitment
- Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of complex business processes
- Time management, planning and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills including the ability to engage at all levels in the organisation and effective report writing
- Good analytical and evaluation skills
- A flexible approach to work with the ability to travel if required
- Experience and knowledge of a broad range of business and commercial activity is essential

Desirable, but not essential:

- Financial services experience is beneficial but not a prerequisite. Experience in the disciplines of accountancy, compliance, risk or IT would be favourably considered.
